Toowoomba can boast Australia’s longest running rock n’ roll cabaret group.  When Owen Ray and Denis Hutchinson began playing music together in 1966 they had no idea that they would become life-long friends and that years later their band, The Countdowns would be more popular than ever.

In global terms, the number of bands that are still together, still friends, still rockin, still enormously popular after all this time can be counted on the fingers of one hand.

The Countdowns is one such group.  They rock with a capital “R” and love it – and so do the thousands of fans who have followed them across Queensland over the years.

Since the 60s they have performed with hundreds of leading international and Australian artists and have worked most popular entertainment venues in southern Queensland and northern New South Wales.
